Laura Brown

Senior Physiotherapist & Clinical Manager

I graduated from James Cook University in 2009. After graduating I worked in a hospital setting for 18 months. I then took an opportunity to work at an organisation supporting children with disabilities.

I started at Better Movement Clinic in 2018 to broaden my skills and challenge myself in other clinical areas. I have an interest in paediatrics, disability, neurological conditions, and chronic pain. I enjoy learning new skills in all these areas and working within a team to help clients achieve their goals. I particularly enjoy working with people to help them participate in their community and in activities that are meaningful to them.

I believe that every single person has something valuable to offer and I love to see clients reach their fullest potential.

Maddison Hold

I enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team here at the Better Movement Clinic and I wish to gain as much knowledge and experience to be able to help people in the best way as possible.

My interest areas are musculoskeletal physiotherapy, rural and remote practices and paediatrics.

Scott Dean

Allied Health Assistant

I've been working in the Health and Food industry for the majority of my working life. I began my journey as a cook/chef after graduating High School back in 2006. After a while I moved into the Health sector and started working in Aged Care as a carer/AIN. I also cooked when I was in aged care. Over time I undertook further study and completed a Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistant in 2010 which was a new qualification at the time. This qualification allowed me to work with Allied Health Professionals and soon I was working with Physiotherapists at the nursing home. I ran group exercises and did 1 on 1 therapy.

Ever since then I was interested in physical therapy and staying active. I began working with Better Movement Clinic in 2021 as an Allied Health Assistant and have been able to apply my knowledge and experience in this role.

I have recently completed my level 1 Strength and Conditioning course, which will allow me to work with athletes, but also improve my current knowledge and skill set. When I am not working, you can find me either working out, creating new dishes, or reading. I am a strong advocate in staying active and eating good food, so feel free in picking my brain.

Jessica Kennedy

Allied Health Assistant

I joined the BMC team in August 2022 as an Allied Health Assistant after deciding to make a complete career change from working in the QLD Public Sector after 15 years to working in the Allied Health industry.  I have been lucky enough to join the wonderful team at BMC while working towards completing my Certificate in Allied Health Assistance.

My career goal is to become a Dietician and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Food and Nutrition through La Trobe University on my way to achieving this. In the meantime, I am so grateful for the skills and experience I am gaining while supporting our clinicians and working with our wonderful and diverse community in both Toowoomba and Dalby. The best part of my job is seeing our clients improve their quality of life and reach their goals every day I come to work.

Asha Smith

Allied Health Assistant

After growing up in Western Australia, I made the move to Queensland where I am now in the process of completing my Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology. I am lucky enough to be a part of the Better Movement team, providing my services as an Allied Health Assistant in the Goondiwindi, Inglewood and Texas regions.

Living in Goondiwindi has sparked a passion to help provide rural communities the access and support to healthcare. Being able to help individuals improve their quality of life through exercise makes this job very rewarding. I get to see a wide variety of conditions meaning I am continually learning and growing as a person, but also developing my knowledge and experience for when I become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

When I am not working or studying, I am generally playing Polocrosse with my friends and family.

Kamryn “Kam” Dunemann

Allied Health Assistant / Administration

I joined The BMC Team in 2024, I was born in Toowoomba and only recently moved back after being in Brisbane and France for the past 3 years. I have been involved in sport from a young age which led to me playing at a national level for golf. After 10 years playing golf and travelling, I decided to convert over to Rugby league. In September 2023 I Ruptured my ACL, tore my meniscus and fractured my tibia so was looking at a year off sport which put me on the path to studying.

I am currently completing my Cert 4 in Allied Health Assistant; I have always had a passion for helping people therefore this was the first step for me to figure out potential other study I wanted to complete. My Future goal is to complete a bachelor’s in occupational therapy or nursing. I’m super excited to be working at BMC as I will be able to learn so much and gain experience in the Health community.

Outside work I enjoy going to the beach and playing sport. I look forward to meeting you all!

Natasha Scholefield

Practice Manager

My career started in reception and administration for Better Movement Clinic in 2015. I realised that by committing to my role and growing within the company I could help make a difference to our local communities by assisting our providers in delivering quality health care. In 2018 I was given the opportunity to become the practice manager for Better Movement Clinic.

As the practice manager for Better Movement Clinic, I enjoy watching all our team members grown into the full potential to support clients in their health care adventure.

Growing up in Dalby has sparked my interest and developed my passion for supporting rural and remote communities and doing my best to bring new services to under serviced locations, whether it be through our services or just pointing someone in the right direction. I believe health is important to everyone and everyone should have a chance to access any health services they need to achieve their desired goal; Better Movement Clinic allows me to support my local community and my passion.

I am privilege to be a part of an allied health facility that commutes to outreach communities and assists a diverse range of people, who have experience all walks of life.
